Former Fox News host and Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) is getting called out for another one of his reactionary jokes.
“I’ve decided to ‘identify’ as Chinese,” Huckabee tweeted. “Coke will like me, Delta will agree with my ‘values’ and I’ll probably get shoes from Nike & tickets to @MLB games.”

Huckabee was referring to rightwing hissy fits over Lil Nas X’s “Satan shoes” that Nike condemned. The CEOs of Coca-Cola and Delta have both condemned voter suppression laws recently passed in Georgia.
Despite the references to fake controversies, people understood the “joke”: white people are oppressed but Asian people have it easy in the U.S. (in the midst of a rise in anti-Asian hate crimes,) and trans people make up an identity to get social approval )as evidenced by an unprecedented nationwide attack on trans rights._
