Actor Niecy Nash came out in an Instagram post where she announced her marriage to another woman.

Nash – the Emmy Award-winner who is best known for her roles on Reno 911!, Getting On, Selma, and Claws, as well as for hosting the interior design show Clean House – posted a picture of her and new wife, musician Jessica Betts.

“Mrs. Carol Denise Betts,” Nash wrote in the caption, referring to her new legal name. She was named Carol Denise Ensley at birth.

She added a diamond ring emoji and a rainbow emoji with the hashtag #LoveWins, to make the message very clear.

Fans in the comments were surprised – Nash hadn’t announce her wedding in advance, she hasn’t previously mentioned her relationship to Betts, and she has not publicly come out as queer.

In 2018, Betts appeared on an episode of Claws and she posted a video from the set to Instagram, calling Nash a “woman of God.”

“I’m honored and blessed in her presence,” she wrote. “She’s anointed and appointed.”

This is Nash’s third marriage – she divorced minister Don Nash in 2007 and engineer Jay Tucker earlier this year.
