Actor DJ Qualls came out as gay in a tweet he sent from the stage of a comedy club.

Qualls – who is known for his roles in movies like Road Trip, The New Guy, Hustle & Flow, and The Core and on television shows like Breaking Bad, Scrubs, Lost, CSI, and The Big Bang Theory – tweeted “Yep, I’m gay,” a reference to Ellen’s famous Time magazine cover from when she came out.

“Been gay this whole time,” Qualls tweeted. “Tired of worrying about what people would think of me. Tired of worrying about what it would do to my career.”

Qualls has not discussed his dating life in interviews in the past, but E! dug up a 2012 tweet where he disagreed with the Pope on marriage equality.

“Disagree w/the Pope saying gay marriage is a threat to world peace & gender identity but agree w/the gown he wore while saying it,” he tweeted.
