Milo Yiannopoulos is broke. After years of selling out the LGBTQ community despite being gay, the far right gadfly has been banished from social media and, without his legion of rabid followers he’s been unable to cash in.
While Yiannopoulos made his career off being a conservative and flamboyant gay man, flaunting his sexuality as a sort of shield for his ridiculous pronouncements on cultural issues. Until it caught up with him.
His latest stunt was serving as grand marshal of the recent “Straight Pride” parade that turned into a white nationalist impromptu Trump rally.
Now the poster boy for the alt-right has started complaining about his lot in life on Telegram, a messaging app popular with white nationalists and Trump supporters who’ve been booted from traditional popular platforms like Facebook or Twitter. Yiannopoulos has been banned from both sites.

“I spent years growing and developing and investing in my fan base, and they just took it away in a flash,” Yiannopoulos wrote. “It’s nice to have a little private chat with my gold star homies but I can’t make a career out of a handful of people like that. I can’t put food on the table this way.”
“I can’t find anyone who’s managing to grow a really big channel here. Everyone is hitting a wall. There’s no future to Telegram for social media refugees if this is the best it gets.”
“I’m clinging on for dear life. And I’ll never give up,” Yiannopoulos said. “But holy fucking hell the base in America SUCKS. Frankly they deserve to lose their country and if by some miracle we manage to save it, it’ll be no thanks whatsoever to voters, readers, subscribers and ENTIRELY thanks to the few brave souls battling on the front lines, beyond all reason and hope.
“It’s years too late. The time to act was when I got booted off Twitter. Nobody did.”

Of course, he didn’t mention the reasons why he was booted from the services. He also didn’t hew to the conservative view of pulling yourself up by your bootstraps when facing adversity instead of whining about it online like a snowflake.
Because, capitalism baby. If no one buys your product, you need a better product.
