Former vice president and 2020 Democratic presidential primary contender Joe Biden tweeted support for Bi Visibility Day.

Yesterday, Students for Biden organizer Amy Koo tweeted that she is still struggling to be “out and proud.”

She also mentioned Biden’s support for marriage equality.

“It’s because of him and LGBTQ+ activists that I can be visible,” Koo wrote. “So thank you, I’m proud to be on your team.”

Biden saw her tweet and told her she has “nothing to be ashamed of and every reason to be proud.”

“Living open and free is a daily act of bravery — bravery that resides in your heart and in the hearts of LGBTQ people around the world.”

Biden supporters loved the exchange.
