A gay chorus’s office was vandalized with violent hate speech earlier this week.

On Wednesday, the Oakland Gay Men’s Chorus in California posted a picture to Facebook of vandalism on their office banner. Someone had written “Die faggots die.”

They had already scribbled over it with marker.

“In the past there has been discussion about keeping the Gay in the chorus name; that maybe it was time to change because so much progress has been made in our society,” the Facebook post read.

“Seeing and reading the despicable defacing brings home the need to continue to be present and that the fight for respect and quality continues.”

They wrote that they haven’t cleaned the sign yet.
