Responding to former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz’s appearance on 60 Minutes to announce he’s exploring a run for President as an independent, Donald Trump, the world’s most visible example of the Dunning–Kruger effect, has tweeted that he is the smartest person in America.
Schultz is exploring an independent bid for the presidency.
But in true Trump style, his wording was a little off and he actually said America “already has” a President who isn’t the “smartest person.”

Trump’s tweet was met with scorn and ridicule on social media. And some of them are downright hilarious. Here’s the best so far.
Howard Schultz doesn’t have the “guts” to run for President! Watched him on @60Minutes last night and I agree with him that he is not the “smartest person.” Besides, America already has that! I only hope that Starbucks is still paying me their rent in Trump Tower!
