Being out as LGBTQ isn’t easy in Mongolia. The conservative culture still frowns on homosexuality.

But three queer residents decided to test whether or not their fellow countrymen were as anti-LGBTQ as the stereotype. So they blindfolded themselves and stood on the street with a sign asking for hugs.

A gay man, a lesbian, and a transgender man took up the gauntlet – a brave act in Mongolia.

One of the organizers, Jack Ganbaatar, told Gay Star News that participants were rather apprehensive about the stunt.

“The community is living in fear and most likely to stay closeted,” he told the outlet.

But would anyone stop? And who would get the most hugs?
