If you need any more proof that the religious right has abandoned their beliefs in pursuit of political power, Jerry Falwell Jr. is happy to provide it.

The adamant Trump supporter has taken to Twitter to chastise Republicans as “wimps” for supporting candidates who are “nice guys.”

“They might make great Christian leaders but the US needs street fighters like [Donald Trump] at every level of government,” the religious right figure told followers.

To recap, the current president, his Supreme Court nominee, several Republican candidates for all levels of office, and many of his advisors have been variously accused of sexual assault, child abuse, adultery, theft, vanity, financial misdeeds, denying shelter and food to the needy, and excessive drinking. They’re all considered sins in Falwell’s holy book.
