Two priests were arrested in Florida for having sex in a car in public.
Edwin Giraldo Cortez, an extern priest from Colombia, and Diego Berrio, who serves as the pastor of Misión San Juan Diego in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights, were allegedly having sex in a car in Miami.
A witness called 911 to report the sex act, and an officer approached the car.
“I parked my vehicle and approached the passenger side of the vehicle on foot,” the police officer wrote in the arrest report.

“I observed defendant Berrio in the passenger seat, performing oral sex on defendant Giraldo who was seated in the driver’s seat. Giraldo’s pants were unzipped and his genitals exposed.”
“This is in broad daylight, 13th Street and Ocean Drive,” a Miami Beach Police spokesperson said. “There are no tints on the window.”
The officer knocked on the window to get the priests’ attention and they were arrested.
They are both being charged with misdemeanor counts of lewd and lascivious behavior, and Giraldo Cortez is also facing a charge of indecent exposure.
In a statement, the archdiocese of Chicago said that the archbishop “has removed Fr. Berrio from ministry and withdrawn his faculties to minister in the Archdiocese of Chicago, effective immediately.”
As for Giraldo Cortez, the archdiocese said that his home diocese in Colombia has been informed of the situation.
