Here’s your daily dose of cute from gay Olympian Adam Rippon

As Rippon-mania has swept the country during the Winter Olympics, the out athlete has dominated news coverage and the queer community’s heart. With so many Adam updates happening every day, it can be hard to keep up. We got you, our little Rippon junkies…

Valentine’s Day

Speaking at a press conference, Rippon told journalists, “Nobody loves me as much as I love me; so I guess I’ll just be my own Valentine tomorrow.”

We’d be happy to prove him wrong. Why?

He’s ‘toning it down’

Nuff said.

He bats away the Mike Pence controversy

In a “I don’t know her” moment that would make Mariah Carey proud, Rippon brushed away the ongoing drama with Vice President Mike Pence, saying, “I don’t want my Olympic experience to be about Mike Pence.”

He’s cheekily dubbed himself “America’s Sweetheart”

The very next sentence after his diss on Pence was this, “I want it to be about my amazing skating and being America’s sweetheart.” Boom.

He used a RuPaul quote to reply to his haters on Twitter

You can’t keep a good man down – especially not when he’s a glamazon bitch.

Elmo sent him love for winning a bronze medal

C’mon. Even Elmo loves the guy. And we all know how mercurial Elmo can be. One good tickle and he’ll leave for the next person who comes along.

He’s doing it for the kids

Speaking of the Sesame Street crowd, at the same press conference where he called himself “America’s sweetheart,” he explained his motivation for being out and proud at the Games.

“I can’t tone it down. I’m being me and being myself,” Rippon said. “I’ve got so many messages from kids all over the country — I’m getting so emotional thinking about it — I think that’s why it’s so important. I think as an athlete I use this platform to my advantage. I think it’s giving my skating a greater purpose.”

Speaking of gay kids…

This news clip has resurfaced of Rippon talking about his Olympic dreams – when he was 13.

He was fresh off a competition in Luxembourg, but the most adorable part is his excitement over taking his first plane and train rides.
