The Metropolitan Police Service in London, more commonly known as Scotland Yard, has opened an investigation into Kevin Spacey regarding a sexual assault accusation, Variety reports.

A man whose identity has not been made public went to the police to report that he was assaulted by Spacey in 2008.

The man, who was 23-years-old at the time and looking to act in The Old Vic theater, where Spacey was the artistic director, said that Spacey invited him to his home in Lambeth – a neighborhood in London – for a drink.

There, they allegedly smoked weed together and the man passed out. When he woke up, he found Spacey performing oral sex on him. He told Spacey to stop and left. As he was leaving, he says that Spacey told him, “Don’t tell anyone about this.”

Scotland Yard has confirmed that they started an investigation this past Wednesday into a sexual assault allegation in Lambeth that occurred in 2008 and that involved a male assailant and a male victim. They did not confirm that the investigation involves Spacey.

Spacey has not commented on the investigation.
