Would Jesus bake a wedding cake for a gay couple?

Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop who refused to bake a cake for a same-sex couple, went on The View last week to make a shocking statement that shows just how ignorant he is about the religion he supposedly follows.

Asked whether or not Jesus would bake a cake for a gay couple, Phillips said no.

“Would Jesus have made the cake? I don’t believe he would have, because that would have contradicted the rest of the Biblical teaching,” he said.

So much for that whole “feeding the multitude with loaves and fishes” thing. Or “Do unto others.” Who needs that part of the Bible when there’s the entire Old Testament to pick and choose from?

“I believe that the Bible clearly teaches that marriage is between one man and one woman. I’m not judging these two gay men who came in,” he said. “I’m just trying to preserve my right as an artist to decide which artistic endeavors I’m going to do and which one’s I’m not.”

Here’s a hint to Phillips. The savior you supposedly follow said he was there to do away with the old laws you’re embracing. He hung out with “the least of these” and loved the folks that religious hypocrites despised and hurt.

Phillips would be the person least likely get served a cake by Jesus. Maybe he should concentrate on following his savior instead of trying to be one.
