UPDATE: Walmart has reached out to say they have yanked the costume from their website because it “obviously” violated their terms of service for third-party retailers.

“This was a third party Marketplace item,” Ravi Jariwala from Walmart Media Relations tells LGBTQNation. “While it’s listed on other sites, it clearly violates our policy and was quickly removed once we were notified. We’re appalled this seller put it on our site to begin with.”

The costume is still for sale with the same name on Amazon.

UPDATE 2: The costume has now been removed from Amazon.

Mega retailer Walmart is selling a “tranny granny” Halloween costume on their website.

For $24.99 you too can pick up a dress, butt and boob pads, and a “babushka” headscarf guaranteed to make your transgender friends cringe. That’s a $40 savings off the price of looking like an idiot! The page helpfully notes that the cigarette and broom are not included.

The costume is not directly stocked by the company and is offered by a third-party seller. The outfit isn’t available in stores.

America’s largest retailer, Walmart added gender identity nondiscrimination protections for employees in 2011. They did not respond to a request for comment by publication.
