Remember James Charles? His fierce high school yearbook photo went viral earlier this year.

The high school senior from Bethlehem, New York didn’t like his yearbook photo, so he knew he had to give it everything to make it perfect. The aspiring makeup artist told Buzzfeed that the “lighting was not ideal for my makeup so all my hard work at 7am didn’t pay off”.

Charles asked for a retake of the photo and to bring along his own light ring to the shoot. The company allowed him to bring along his own lighting and the results were perfection.

The photo caught the eye of the folks over at CoverGirl and they did something awesome. They made him a CoverBoy. Now Charles is joining brand ambassador Katy Perry to show off his first photo shoot – and, well, he’s definitely cover-worthy.

Check out some photos from the shoot below along with a reminder of his glorious yearbook photo.
