At a rally in a palatial sports arena shortly before the New Hampshire primary, Donald Trump crowed about Texas senator Ted Cruz, leading one woman in the audience to hurdle an insult at Trump’s chief rival.
Donald Trump responded:
She just said a terrible thing. You know what she said? Shout it out.
Okay, you’re not allowed to say and I never expect to hear that from you again. She said — I never expect to hear that from you again! — she said: ‘He’s a pussy.’ That’s terrible.”
According to The Washington Post, “The crowd of several thousand burst into cheers, applause and laughter, while reporters asked one another if they had heard that right.”
