It’s not the first time religion has been used to justify bad behavior.
26-year-old Michael Neri — a drama teacher from Kidderminster, England — recently received a text from a mother who feels he shouldn’t teach children because he’s gay.
She told him in no uncertain terms that her children would no longer be allowed to attend his class.
She also asked him to please refund her deposit.
“I have recently learned of your lifestyle,” she writes, “and as a Christian I cannot allow my children to be influenced by unconventional ideas. It is our belief that a man should marry a woman.”
Michael’s response shows class and restraint — and may have even made the headstrong woman think twice.
