General Mills, Lucky Charms celebrate Pride with #LuckyToBe campaign

General Mills is celebrating LGBT Pride Month with a new campaign social media focused on diversity and acceptance.

Centered around one of its iconic brands — Lucky Charms — General Mills is encouraging folks to participate in its campaign by tweeting photos with the hashtag #LuckyToBe.

In 2012, General Mills, based in Golden, Minn., made headlines when it came out in opposition to a proposed constitutional ban on same-sex marriage in its home state of Minnesota. The ban was defeater by voters later that year.

This is the first year General Mills has publicly celebrated LGBT Pride.
