Klingenschmitt: ‘It’s a tragedy every time somebody comes out of the closet’

On Tuesday’s “Pray In Jesus Name” program, Former Navy chaplain Gordon “Dr. Chaps” Klingenschmitt interviewed conservative author Michael Brown about a variety of issues, including the announcement by NFL prospect Michael Sam that he is gay.

Brown said that Sam was being selfish by coming out because he was putting himself ahead of the good of any team that drafts him by forcing the team to have to deal with his sexuality.

Brown went on to lament that our culture has reached a point where it celebrates “when a man says that I am attracted to other men,” at which point Klingenschmitt joined in to declare that “it’s a tragedy every time somebody comes out of the closet.”

“It’s not something we should be celebrating,” Klingenschmitt said.
