Charlie Sheen apologizes for homophopic slur during club opening

Actor Charlie Sheen has issued a brief apology after video surfaced of him berating patrons in his new lounge, calling them “faggot assholes.”

The Los Angeles Times reported that Sheen, star of the FX series “Anger Management,” said, in a statement, “I meant no ill will and intended to hurt no one and I apologize if I offended anyone.”

The former “Two and a Half Men” star also quipped, “I meant to say maggot, but I have a lisp.”

On Friday, Sheen was emceeing the opening of the Epic Bar at the El Ganzo Hotel in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where, during a warm-up, when he opened with, “How we doing … Lying bunch of faggot assholes. How we doing?”

“You guys suck!” Sheen added.

Attending the opening were Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
