True LGBT Story: NovaLei Gonzalez, ‘I’m from Hawaii’

After having suicidal thoughts from being bullied and taunted in school, NovaLei went home to his grandfather, who offered advice that NovaLei still remembers today.

“If you never remember anything else I ever tell you, I want you to remember this. That because of who you are, there will be enough people in your lifetime to love you for exactly who you are, that you never have to worry about the ones that don’t.”
