Rick Perry, who has equated the fight against gays in the Boy Scouts to the fight to abolish slavery, told Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council on Friday’s edition of Washington Watch that the Boy Scouts of America’s delegates bowed to “political correctness” and “money” in ending the ban on gay members under the age of 18.

Rick Perry (R-Texas) appeared in the Family Research Council’s “Stand With Scouts Sunday” webcast last night where he told FRC president Tony Perkins that the Boy Scouts of America must resist those trying to “tear apart” the organization’s values and replace them with the “flavor of the month”—homosexuality.

Just weeks after releasing a "turnaround plan" focused on building a more inclusive GOP aimed at attract minority voters, including “welcoming” attitudes on gay rights, members of the Republican National Committee on Friday voted unanimously to reaffirm language in the GOP platform defining marriage "as the union of one man and one woman."

Someone has to sit Tony Perkins down and school him on the truth. I am very certain that Perkins is already aware of this truth, but he needs to be told publicly so that everyone else can know. The Southern Poverty Law Center is not responsible for Floyd Corkins’ near massacre at FRC headquarters last year. If Perkins wants to blame someone, he should look to himself and his organization. For years, while under the guise of Biblical principles, the FRC has dehumanized the LGBT community....

We are engaged in a tug of war between humanity and inhumanity as we witness the true colors of inhuman prejudices such as displayed by the right wing/GOP ... They are digging their heels in and we are again witnessing the death cries of an antiquated, stubborn, and cowardly worldview.
