RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina’s capital city became the sixth statewide to protect transgender workers from employment discrimination. City Council members passed the revised policy unanimously at a meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

Bullied 11-year-old ‘brony’ clings to life following suicide attempt

RALEIGH, N.C. -- An 11-year-old boy clings to life and may have suffered brain damage following a suicide attempt last month. Family members say Michael Morones was repeatedly bullied at school and called gay because he was a fan of the children's television cartoon "My Little Pony."

Advocates rally in support of affectionate lesbian couple ejected from shopping center

More than 100 people gathered at a Raleigh, NC, shopping center on Sunday afternoon in a demonstration of support for a lesbian couple who were ejected from the property last week after a security guard witnessed them displaying an act of affection.
