Pareto v. Ruvin

Pareto v. Ruvin is a challenge to Florida's constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, filed Jan. 21, 2014, in Miami-Dade Circuit Court by the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) on behalf of Equality Florida Institute and six same-sex couples. The case was argued on July 2, 2014. On July 25, 2014, Circuit Judge Sarah Zabel overturned the ban in a ruling that applies to Miami-Dade County only; the decision was put on hold pending appeal.
