LOS ANGELES — Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were a little-known rap duo from Seattle with an album that sold beyond modest expectations a year ago. As 2014 opens, Macklemore and Lewis are the focal point of the Grammy Awards — and few are more surprised than them.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands — The Dutch brass band that always performs at Olympic speed skating ovals is considering playing a popular gay song — "Y.M.C.A." — at the Sochi Winter Olympics to show its support for gay rights.

In just six hours, Mary Lambert's life changed drastically. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis had written and produced a song called "Same Love," but they needed a special hook to finalize the emotional track. Like the rap duo, Lambert is from Seattle, though she had never met them before.

Pop-rock trio fun. plans to raise funds for at-risk LGBT youth in Detroit

NEW YORK -- The pop-rock trio fun. is launching a campaign to raise money for at-risk LGBT youth in Detroit. The band says it plans to raise $250,000 to build a community health center for the Ruth Ellis Center, which provides housing, meals, clothing and medical services for LGBT youth in need.
