RIO DE JANEIRO -- The FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) is investigating claims that Mexico fans chanted anti-gay slurs during its opening match against Cameroon at the World Cup. FIFA says "disciplinary proceedings were opened against Mexico for improper conduct of spectators" last Friday in Natal.

Brooklyn gay man sues 5 Hasidic men, Shomrim patrol over beating

NEW YORK — A gay man who was attacked and brutally beaten last December by a group of Hasidic men in Brooklyn filed a lawsuit Monday against the five men indicted in the attack and the Shomrim security patrol of which at least two of the assailants were members.

Complaint filed against D.C. bistro for ‘gay bitches’ slur on printed receipt

Lambda Legal filed a complaint Tuesday in the Washington, D.C., Office of Human Rights on behalf of a transgender woman who was given a restaurant receipt with an anti-LGBT slur printed on it while socializing with friends at a local hookah bar. According to the complaint, the words "GAY BITCHES" were printed in place of the customer's name.

ATLANTA -- An Atlanta man wanted in an alleged anti-gay attack on a cyclist turned himself in on Wednesday. Michael Sanders was charged with battery in the May 23 attack on 24-year-old Quinn Chrzan.
