Dousset v. Florida Atlantic University

Dousset v. Florida Atlantic University is a state court challenge filed May 14, 2014 by the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR), on behalf of Gildas Dousset, a student at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, who is seeking recognition of his marriage to his husband. Dousset was denied in-state tuition at Florida Atlantic University because the school refused to recognize his marriage, citing Florida’s ban on same-sex marriage and recognition of lawful same-sex unions performed elsewhere. The couple married in Massachusetts in 2013 and live in Fort Lauderdale.
