The loss of Christian social power: The threat of LGBT rights
I feel that in order to understand why the culture war is a “war,” we must understand what those who fight against us feel that they are losing. To them, it is about Power. With LGBT people placed upon an equal playing field as them, they have lost their status as the movers of society.

Twelfth researcher complains about ‘religious right’ distortion of her work
Another researcher has come out complaining about how a religious right “expert” distorted her work to stigmatize the LGBTQ community. Rick Fitzgibbons of the NARTH (the National Association of Research and Therapy of Homosexuality) distorted research on same-sex adoption to make the case that children in same-sex households are not raised better than children “in stable homes with a mother and a father.”

‘I no longer identify as a Christian . . .’ — they often write
If part of a person’s expression of faith means treating people unequally, denying rights of others and making them a target of their fear, that faith is not aligned with the God of the Bible. Is it really about the children?
When you contrast the millions upon millions of dollars that these parasitic groups of institutions have spent to marginalize and demonize LGBTQ persons against the stark reality of the needs of the poor, disadvantaged and children who need loving homes and who need to be nurtured, it is difficult to not feel disgusted and angered.

It’s not enough to call them bigots…
We know that religious right groups peddle distortions designed to demonize the LGBT community. However we really should do more than simply declare them bigots. Members of the right tend to embrace that definition…

The Hate That Dare Not Speak Its Name
Sometimes I’m amazed by the rapid success of the gay rights movement. Homosexuality, the love that dare not speak its name, is now spoken freely, while homophobia has quickly become the hate that dare not speak its name – at least if one is running for higher office.
