PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Health Services is reviewing the state’s vital records law now that same-sex marriage is legal under a federal court ruling. Health Services Director Will Humble says a spouse will be able to get a death certificate for a spouse regardless of gender.

Holder: U.S. to recognize same-sex marriages in six new states
WASHINGTON — The federal government is recognizing gay marriage in six more states, extending federal benefits to those couples. Attorney General Eric Holder says the states are: Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, North Carolina, West Virginia and Wyoming.

Arizona lawmakers consider response to fall of same-sex marriage ban
PHOENIX — The end of Arizona’s ban on same-sex marriage has legislators staking out a range of positions on what they should and shouldn’t do in response. The gay rights issue caused turmoil at the Capitol last spring when lawmakers passed a religious-rights bill allowing businesses to deny service to gays and lesbians. Gov. Jan Brewer vetoed the bill.
