ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — More than 100 people lined up in Albuquerque Tuesday morning as the clerk in New Mexico's most populous county began issuing marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples.

Transgender student skips graduation rather than wear female gown

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The graduation ceremony at St. Pius X High School in Albuquerque, N.M., on Wednesday was one student short, as a transgender teen refused to participate in the commencement exercises because the school told him he would have to wear a female student gown.
