French court extends adoption rights to married, lesbian couples
PARIS — France’s highest court has ruled that married lesbian couples are allowed to adopt their spouse’s child born through in vitro fertilization or other medically assisted reproduction. The Cour de Cassation’s ruling is a consequence of the legalization of same-sex marriage in France last year.

Wisconsin judges grant adoptions by same-sex couples
MADISON, Wis. — At least two Dane County, Wis., judges have granted adoptions by same-sex couples, thereby recognizing their marriages. In the latest case Wednesday, Kat Riley adopted the 2-year-old biological daughter of her partner, Teresa Riley. And, Teresa Riley adopted her spouse’s 4-year-old biological son. The Rileys were married in Iowa last year.

Luxembourg legislature votes to legalize same-sex marriage, adoption
Luxembourg’s legislature voted Wednesday to legalize same-sex marriage and adoption, making the tiny country the eleventh in Europe to allow marriage equality for same-sex couples. The measure passed in the Chamber of Deputies by a vote of 56-4 after a petition by opponents failed to gain the required 4,500 signatures.
