NEW YORK — Joan Rivers remained in serious condition in a New York City hospital Friday, one day after going into cardiac arrest at a doctor’s office. Jamaican activist ends legal challenge to anti-sodomy law amid fears for his safety
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A Jamaican gay rights activist who brought a legal challenge to the Caribbean island’s anti-sodomy law says he has withdrawn the case after growing fearful about his safety. Detroit police arrest man accused of shooting partner, burning down house
DETROIT – Police in Detroit, Mich., have arrested a man who allegedly shot his partner and burned down their house to hide the evidence. The suspect, identified by police as Edwardo Ross, allegedly shot his 42-year-old partner, James Foxhall, in their Detroit home on Aug. 15, then dumped Foxhall’s body in the city’s Palmer Park.

After 11 years on the air, FOX’s hit show “So You Think You Can Dance,” has finally featured a romance-themed same-sex dance performance. For the show’s opening number Wednesday, top four finalists Valerie Rockey, Ricky Ubeda, Jessica Richens, and Zack Everhart Jr. performed the routine to the song “Wind Beneath My Wings,” and choreographed by Travis Wall.

San Diego man accused of intentionally infecting dozens of men with HIV
SAN DIEGO, Calif. — A California gay man who is alleged to be HIV positive is accused of intentionally infecting at least two dozen men in and around the San Diego area. Two men say 29-year-old Thomas Guerra infected them with the HIV virus, and one man who spoke to KFMB-TV says he’s speaking out to warn others about the alleged actions of his former partner.

Lesbian worker says Iowa casino fired her for not dressing feminine
DUBUQUE, Iowa — A former employee for Mystique Casino in Dubuque has sued the casino, claiming she was fired because she didn’t dress more feminine. The civil lawsuit by Brandy Welter, a former marketing manager, seeks an unspecified amount of damages for lost wages and emotional distress, among other things.

Bozeman, Mont., residents sue over LGBT non-discrimination ordinance
BOZEMAN, Mont. — Five Bozeman residents are suing the city, the mayor and city commissioners arguing the city did not have the legal authority to enact an ordinance that prohibits discrimination based on a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity. The complaint, filed in District Court, asks the court to declare the non-discrimination ordinance invalid.
