It takes time and money to deliver the news each and every day.

We’re an LGBT publication, but we’re also a small, independent business. There are no major media companies supporting us, no angel investors, no big non-profits throwing us annual fundraising dinners. We’re just a group of journalists doing our best to report the news each day, and pay the bills that keep the site running.

Now, we know you’re wondering why an “advertising supported” website needs your donation. Sadly, the reality is that online advertising pays only pennies (literally) — so unless you’re a mainstream website with millions of visitors each month, online advertising is simply not a sustainable model for content provided by quality, niche news sites such as LGBTQ Nation.

And you’d probably be surprised at how few readers actually click on ads!

We’d love to continue providing all our content for free, but without your help, eventually we won’t be able to afford to bring it to you at all. So, rather than install “pay walls” (you read, you pay), we’d simply like to ask for your voluntary contributions to keep our news magazine running, and to keep it free for those who can’t afford to donate.
