Kansas town bans discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity

ROELAND PARK, Kan. -- Roeland Park has become the second city in Kansas to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The city's mayor on Monday night broke the council's 4-4 tie. It was the second time the council had considered the anti-discrimination issue this summer.

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Same-sex couples who marry in other states won't find many places in Kansas to divorce if the relationship fails. The Lawrence Journal-World reports Douglas County is currently the only county in Kansas that has issued divorces for same-sex couples.
