Hawaii civil unions bill advances, measure back on legislature’s agenda
The Hawaii Civil Unions Bill has made it out of committee by a vote of 3-2 and now advances to the full Senate. The measure is expected to pass easily and Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie, a gay rights supporter, said he would sign the bill if passed by the Legislature.

Religious coalition pressing Asheville for additional LGBT rights, protections
ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A religious coalition known as the “People of Faith for Just Relationships” are pressing the city to do more for LGBT equality. The group of 25 local religious leaders led by the Reverend Joe Hoffman, has released a resolution calling for four specific protections.
