Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia: A duplicitous, totalitarian bigot

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin ScaliaPhoto by Stephen Masker, via Wikimedia Commons
Known for his frequent public condemnations of gay rights legislation and his defense of sodomy laws that target exclusively against gay couples, Justice Scalia isn’t exactly what you would call a tolerant, forward thinking kind of guy. He is widely known for keeping alive the tradition of disingenuously likening homosexuality to bestiality, incest, and murder, among other things...

You say you want a revolution?

| Sunday, November 18, 2012
The religious right is infused with pervasive, unrelenting hatred in its most ugly, unsubtle form. We are engaged in a tug of war between humanity and inhumanity as we witness the true colors of inhuman prejudices such as displayed by the right wing/GOP ... They are digging their heels in and we are again witnessing the death cries of an antiquated, stubborn, and cowardly worldview.

Memo to PFOX: We don’t need your rehabilitation

| Sunday, August 19, 2012
“Victims,” best describes those who participate (especially those forced to participate) in the macabre ritual of self-loathing that SOCE (sexual orientation change efforts) groups advocate. These are not institutions of healing. But are institutions of shame and degradation. They are not based in science, instead they’re based in ancient dogma, blind bigotry, and willful ignorance.

Nature does not care about your homophobia

| Monday, August 13, 2012
One of the most frequent tenants regurgitated by those against gay equality is that homosexuality is “against nature and thousands of years of tradition.” I, and many others, have addressed the nearly infinite errors in this line of reasoning. For one, it begs the question that nature is separate from mankind and also that being against “nature” (whatever they are defining it as) is inherently immoral...

Religious bigotry on display: ‘Fuck you queers,’ say Chick-fil-A patrons

| Saturday, August 4, 2012
In an act of ultimate intellectual cowardice, conservatives have decided to equate any and all criticism of Dan Cathy and his homophobic views/actions, as an attack on his right to freedom of speech. By childishly inciting the false notion that Cathy is a victim of censorship, numerous right wing politicians and preachers have managed to, once again, stir up fear and resentment towards the LGBT community, giving people a gateway in which to wantonly parade their bigotry and spite.

Boycotts: A leftist tactic by gays, but a ‘Christian value’ when gays are the target

| Wednesday, August 1, 2012
It should be apparent where there is a hefty opposition to Chick-fil-A, by the LGBT community and those who value their equality. Unsurprisingly, however, many right wingers, who sympathize with Chick-fil-A’s homophobic views, have labeled this opposition as “bullying,” “leftist intolerance,” “an affront to Christianity,” and “an attack on Chick-fil-A’s free speech.” They say this as if boycotts are a new phenomenon, or as if they are an exclusively “leftist” tactic.

The leftist homosexuals did not bully Donald Perry to death

| Sunday, July 29, 2012
Donald Perry
Now, as you can probably guess, there have been some, on the right, who have correlated Chick-fil-A's recent public relations firestorm to Donald Perry’s sudden death. Some have even dubbed him as a victim of “leftist homosexual bullying,” asserting that the stress set upon him by the opposition to Chick-fil-A is what lead to his “untimely” demise. Some have even attempted to draw parallels between Perry’s death and those of gay teens, bullied into suicide -- claims which range from absurd to downright repugnant...
