Conservatives throwing tantrums at black community over Obama support

| Saturday, May 19, 2012
Harry Jackson
I must say that I am getting a kick out of reading and watching those on the right, particularly the religious right, predict how African-Americans will desert President Obama come election day due to his support of marriage equality. It’s hilarious to me to read the right-wing publications and blogs give room to a supposed angry black pastor who whines about how Obama has betrayed the black community, of course omitting the fact that said pastor never really supported Obama in the first place...

FRC itching to be humiliated again as ‘Day of Silence’ approaches

| Sunday, April 15, 2012
dos-300x206
Because the "Day of Silence" -- and the organization behind it, GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network) -- deals with the plight of LGBT students, they both have been in the cross hairs of religious right groups who claim that Day of Silence is simply another way to supposedly “indoctrinate” students into homosexuality...

brown-th
It's not only the fact that the National Organization for Marriage specifically said it wanted drive a wedge between the black and gay communities. It's also the fact that NOM was recruiting African-American leaders to speak out against marriage equality for the purpose of getting the gay community provoked.

My problem with GoProud — Where is the pride?

| Wednesday, February 22, 2012
Jimmy LaSalvia and Chris Barron
The Republican gay group GoProud has been given a lot of negative names by many in the LGBTQ community from "quislings" to "sell-outs" to "Uncle Toms." While I'm not as descriptive of my displeasure of GoProud, believe me when I say that it's there. I'm not a fan of GoProud for many reasons.

| Monday, February 20, 2012
Peter LaBarbera
Over the years, I have joked about and done my best to expose the wanton homophobia of “Porno Pete” LaBarbera, head of the hate group Americans for Truth. And today, he stooped to a level which even shocks me -- he decided to post on his site a picture of an STD – anal warts – close up.

You mean same-sex families have children? Alert the Marines!

| Sunday, February 12, 2012
spencer-perry
The entitlement and audacity of some who oppose LGBTQ equality never ceases to amaze me. Of all of the false hysterical claims they make, the one about children has to take the cake. "If marriage equality is accepted, children will be forced to learn about gays."

Anti-gay pastor, NOM ally goes off the deep end again about ‘gay sex’

| Monday, January 30, 2012
Patrick Wooden
Raleigh N.C. "diaper pastor" Patrick Wooden is not only refusing to take back his comments that gay men have so much anal sex that they require surgery and diapers, and that they use gerbils, baseball bats, and cell phones as sexual instruments, but he seems to be reveling in his notoriety at the expense of looking like a damn fool.

NOM wants Newt Gingrich to ‘save’ marriage? Hilarity ensues

| Sunday, January 22, 2012
gingrich
It's obvious that if Newt Gingrich is interested in, as NOM claims, preserving marriage as the union between one man and one woman, he seems to think that he is exempt from the rule. And it's even more obvious that NOM's silence regarding his, shall we say, indiscretions is signalling that the organization is turning a blind eye to his past behavior.
