Four trans women arrested after Briton plunges to his death at resort

A man from Leeds has fallen to his death from the fourth-story balcony of a guesthouse located in Pattaya, Thailand.

On Tuesday, the shirtless body of 28-year-old Naami Keyghobadi was discovered. He was lying face up in an alleyway located by the Dolphin House apartments, located near a beach resort that’s known for its wild parties.

The four suspects are all transgender sex workers. Each failed drug tests, and crystal meth was found at the scene. All were arrested and taken in for questioning by Pattaya police.

The victim married Chloe San Keyghobadi last year on Boracay Island in the Philippines. They split up six months ago.

“I can’t believe this,” she told The Sun. “Naami said he was going on holiday somewhere and wanted to speak to me when he got back.”

A statement from his family says:

“Naami, who was 28 years old, traveled to Thailand on holiday on 4 December and was due to return on 30 December. We are obviously very distressed by the news of his death and are concerned that there will be unhelpful speculation about the circumstances in which he died.”

Keyghobadi — who suffered a broken leg and ribs, as well as internal injuries — was pronounced dead at Pattaya memorial hospital.

According to Anukul Preedayuth, a colonel at Pattaya city police station, “There are witnesses who said he fell down on his own, but we are not convinced. We are looking for more witnesses and evidence. The matter is under investigation.”

Keyghobadi worked as the director of a solicitors’ firm. A spokesman told The Guardian: “Naami was a highly valued colleague. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.”

A spokesman for the Foreign Office said: “We are providing support to the family of a British national who died in Thailand on 15 December, and are also in contact with local authorities regarding the death.”
