Even though RuPaul wasn’t always the household name he is today, thanks to a newly rediscovered video from 1993, we know for sure that the “Drag Race” star has been plying that same trademark line for 23 years: “You’d better werk!”

The OMGBlog dug deep into the vault and found “A World of Wonder” production for the UK television network, Channel Four, from Christmas ’93, and it’s full of the big stars of the time: Elton John, Boy George, Nirvana, Little Richard, Belinda Carlisle, Fred Schneider from the B52s, and Latoya Jackson, just to name a few, plus a collection of drag queens who are featured as “The Downtown Dragtime Players.”

The site deems the video “Werk appropriate.”
