Celebrating our veterans five years after the end of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell

Today we honor our veterans for their service and sacrifice to protect our freedom and ideals. This Veteran’s Day is particularly important as it is the fifth during which gay and lesbian servicemembers can mark the day openly with their loved ones. To all those who serve, we thank you.

I’m particularly proud of President Obama, Congressional Democrats, and our community for the way we all worked together to repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Today, we celebrate all veterans.
