The 2016 presidential election has gone from bad to worse to dumpster fire smeared with excrement. But at least we can laugh on the deck of this sinking ship.
Comedians always find plenty to satirize and ridicule during elections years, but this one has been the gift that gives eternal. It’s a good thing, too, because after seeing how low our national politics has fallen we could all use the laughs.
Saturday Night Live Takes on the Trump Tapes
“Saturday Night Live” continues its excellent election 2016 run by taking on the Trump Tape. Alec Baldwin’s Trump impression is almost worth having to deal with the real Trump getting this close to The White House.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” stars impersonate Trump, Clinton
The queens of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” put on their best orange face and take turns playing the Donald, using his own words to mock him. Fan favorites Ginger Minj, Alaska, Tempest DuJour all take turns in the Trump role and Alyssa Edwards nails it as Hillary Clinton. Chad Michaels plays a startled Cher, urging us all to go out and vote lest this nightmare continue for four years.
“Dirty Dancing” Duet
They had the time of their life. Actually, it looked like both Trump and Clinton would have rather been anywhere else than the debate stage, but watching them do a duet of “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” is a lot more fun.
Stephen Colbert weighs on on the Trump Tape and the debate from home
Stephen Colbert was on break for Columbus Day but that didn’t stop him from getting in some of the best jokes about the debate from his study.

Colbert also let us watch him watching the Trump Tape for the first time.
Sassy Trump is sorry, will survive
Lisping Trump is back, this time with an apology and a message: he will survive.
Seth Meyers holds nothing back
Seth Meyers shows he is no Jimmy Fallon by taking it to Trump.
“So a man who is this close to the highest office in the land now occupies the lowest office in the land: the pervert on the bus,” he said.
Randy Rainbow has some advice for Trump
When life is getting you down and you’ve managed to alienate your own party leaders and some of your biggest supporters, don’t frown, just grab life by the you-know-what. But, please, not literally, Donald.
Samantha Bee goes in on Trump
Samantha Bee went after Trump beautifully in a segment called “Pussy Riot,” where she is visibly angry and disgusted and it only makes the delivery of her lines that much stronger. Get him, Samantha!
She also had plenty to say about the debate that followed, or as she calls it, “The night we all gave up.” Now if only Trump would give up.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt songifies the debate
Earworm alert: this will get stuck in your head and refuse to leave. But that’s okay because it is so, so worth it. A touch of music helps the ugly debate go down.
“Who’s gonna work it out, baby? Who’s gonna work it out?” the chorus asks. Voters will, so don’t screw it up!
