Pat Robertson: Christians should let gays and Muslims kill each other

Every time a tragedy happens, rightwing nutjobs rush to blame LGBT people for it. Hurricane strike? Gays did it. Earthquake? God’s angry about same-sex marriage. Mass shooting? It was the influence of a morally bankrupt society. The list goes on and one and one man tends to lead the pack on these incredibly moronic claims.

Yes, television evangelist and former Republican presidential candidate Pat Robertson is back with more wit and wisdom about LGBT rights and national tragedies. This time, instead of focusing on what happened and the cause of the Orlando shooter’s homophobia (religion!), Robertson chose to pontificate on how Christians should react to news that a Muslim “gentleman” killed 49 LGBT people in the nation’s worst mass shooting to date.

His advice? “The best thing to do is to sit on the sidelines and let them kill themselves.”

“We’re looking at a favored group by the left, the homosexuals, and that in Islam is punishable by death or imprisonment or some sanction, so what are the left going to do? How are they going to describe it? And they don’t know quite what to do now,” Robertson said on his show. “The fact that this Islamic gentleman opens fire in a gay nightclub and kills almost 50 homosexuals, that says something and tells the fact that Islam is against homosexuality, so the liberals are going to be scrambling to find some rationale, I think they’re going to have a hard time doing it.”

Watch Robertson’s segment below and grab onto the nearest trashcan. You’ll probably get sick.
