What closet? Nico Tortorella ‘was never really in the house’

Nico Tortorella scored headlines in People, US Weekly and scores of other celebrity and LGBTQ-topical websites with his revelation to Page Six that he is sexually fluid.

The star of TV Land’s “Younger” apparently took the New York Post gossipmongers by surprise with this declarative statement at a Pride event, because they printed the news that “he’s sexually ‘fluid.'” using quotation marks around the word, “fluid.”

“I’ve never been in any sort of closet… I was never really in the house,” Page Six reported, based on what he said at the event sponsored by American Express. “I think it’s one thing to hide… and it’s one thing to come out of the closet in a public statement… But I’ve always done me and never been shy… and have been vocal about it.”

People reported the actor, who plays Josh on the show, said that while he’s currently dating a woman, “it’s just a fluidity … we’re all kind of moving into this one situation.”

And as for the situation Tortorella’s comments caused in terms of media attention, the young star posted his reaction to being labeled sexually “fluid” on Instagram:
