It’s the epitome of a perfect — and perfectly entertaining — storm.
A video posted to Facebook features the hilarious drama that unfolds when a passing cyclist happened to pedal towards a virulently homophobic street preacher.
Interrupting the sinister sermon, the cyclist says he’s gay and absolutely does not need any “f*cking god” to love himself.
TVNZ reports that the crowd broke into cheers following the confrontation.

Glasglow’s Emlyn Pearce managed to capture the video and posted it to Facebook.
“I walk through Glasgow holding hands with my boyfriend all the time,” Pearce explains, “and we have never experienced any homophobia. So to walk down the main shopping street and hear a man shouting that ‘the 99%’ need to stand up to the ‘1%’ who are gay was very sad and very scary.”
He took out his cellphone and started to film the preacher, and that’s when the crusading cyclist entered the story.
“I’m gay, I’m gay, so say that to me,” cried the cyclist, later identified as Ryan Vance.
“God still loves you,” the preacher intoned.
Vance’s response: “I love me, I don’t need a f*cking god to do it.”
And then, applause.
