New York bar owner egged, called antigay slurs

Police are on the hunt for three teenagers who reportedly shouted antigay slurs at a bar owner in Hell’s Kitchen.

One of the teenagers apparently threw an egg at the bar owner’s face.

The confrontation happened early Saturday evening at Hell’s Kitchen’s Hardware Bar.

Eric Einstein, the bar’s owner, was celebrating a friend’s birthday party when the egg hit him.

He tells ABC 7 NY:

Out of the corner of my eye I saw something come towards me and it hit me right on the jaw. I thought it was maybe a full bottle of water or something not fully solid but heavy.”

Perhaps he’s still in shock.

Einstein reports that three teenage boys were staring at him and then they took off. He ran after them and caught up with one of the boys. That’s when the other two circled back. That’s when Einstein decided to let go of the teen and get police involved.

Police have a clear image of the boy in question and ABC 7 reports that police are investigating the incident “as aggravated harassment and as a possible bias incident.”
