Here’s what happens when straight people try conversion therapy

Conversion therapy is a bogus form of medical treatment that aims to change a person’s sexual orientation from gay to straight through counseling, prayer, hormonal treatment, electroshock therapy and other bizarre and horrific methods.

The therapy is banned in California, New Jersey, Illinois, Oregon and the District of Columbia, and has been criticized by a number of major health organizations, including the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, and nearly a dozen others.

The folks over at BuzzFeed have flipped the script by having straight people undergo the same sort of counseling that has been inflected upon gay people for decades.

The results are both hilarious and sad.
