A new spec ad for Tide To Go takes a page from current events to slyly satirize fringe religious bigotry.

In the ad, two men approach a church holding hands when a clergywoman stops them dead in their tracks.

“I won’t let you blemish the sanctity of marriage!” the woman, played by Lynne Marie Stewart (aka Miss Yvonne on Pee Wee’s Playhouse and Danny’s mom on Go-Go Boy Interrupted), says.

The moment of tension is broken when she busts out the Tide To Go pen and we realize she meant “blemish” in a much less metaphorical sense.
