CNN reports that a man who was discovered with Rosie O’Donnell’s missing daughter Chelsea this week was arrested on charges of distributing obscene materials to a minor along with endangering a child.

A statement from Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato claims 25-year-old Steven Sheerer of Barnegat, New Jersey, was arrested on Friday after detectives carefully looked over the 17-year-old’s cell phone.

According to the statement, investigators discovered “inappropriate communications over the last several weeks between Sheerer and the minor.”

While the statement didn’t specifically identify the minor, Barnegat police said Chelsea O’Donnell had been discovered in Sheerer’s home.

As part of an ongoing investigation, Sheerer’s computer was seized. He’s currently being held in the Ocean County Jail, with bail set at $40,000. He’s been ordered to have no contact with Chelsea O’Donnell or her family.

When officers found Chelsea O’Donnell inside Sheerer’s home, she said she’s gone there voluntarily, according to the Barnegat police lieutenant.
