Huffington Post reports that Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who is refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples because of her staunch Christian beliefs, unknowingly married a trans man and a pansexual woman.

According to the Courier-Journal, Camryn Colen and his wife Lexie claim they were wed by Davis in February, and say Davis didn’t ask for Colen’s birth certificate, which identifies him as female.

“She saw just a straight couple in love, and she should see everybody like that,” he told the newspaper. “She shouldn’t just see straight couples like that.”

The couple joined a crowd of roughly 100 people who protested outside Davis’ office on Saturday.
