CNN’s Chris Cuomo grills Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore on Thursday on the subject of same-sex marriage in Alabama, and his order to state probate judges to defy a federal court ruling.
Moore sent a directive to probate judges Sunday instructing them to refuse the licenses – one day before an order by U.S. District Judge Callie Granade allowing gay marriage was to take effect. As of Thursday morning, few than one third of Alabama counties were issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
